Dr. Summers McMurray and her family relocated to
Knoxville in 2006. Her clinical work focuses on
couples therapy, family therapy, and individual
therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. Her
clinical interest areas include addictions, grief and
loss, relationship and family issues, depression,
anxiety, spiritual concerns, and women’s issues.
Summers is also experienced in psychological
testing for both children and adults.

Summers received her Bachelor’s in Psychology
from the University of Tennessee and her Master’s
and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Fuller
Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. She
completed her doctoral internship at the University of
Tennessee Counseling Center, where she also
received specialty training in the treatment of
substance abuse and addiction at Cornerstone of
Recovery, a residential treatment center in
Louisville, Tennessee.

Summers and her husband, Torrey, have been
married for five years and have two young children.
