Anna completed her Master’s degree at Richmont Graduate University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is now a counselor in supervision working towards licensure. Anna has walked alongside individuals navigating substance abuse, sex addiction, trauma, betrayal, and spiritual issues, as well as, life adjustments. She considers it a privilege to sit with clients in the difficult seasons of their lives and enjoys working with adults of all ages. Anna believes that shame is one of the greatest disrupters of connection with others, ourselves, and with God. She feels particularly passionate about helping young women navigate questions of identity, faith, and relationship concerns during their college years. Anna was originally an English Major at UTK and is passionate about British literature, art, cooking, and hiking the Appalachian trail with her best friend.
In her own words:
“With a background in English Literature before I pursued the profession of counseling, I find myself drawn to stories. The stories we tell ourselves about our past, present circumstances, and future hopes play a large role in the way we confront hardships and trials. So many of the narratives can originate in childhood and in moments of trauma, pain, or self-sabotage.
I find joy in the process of truly getting to know a person - their story, unique intersts and abilities - and witnessing my clients’ capacity to reframe hardships and sorrows into strengths and moments of resiliency.”
