Lindsay brings extensive experience supporting children, college-age women, and families in both individual and group settings. She provides trauma-informed care through a range of approaches including play therapy, expressive arts, nature-based practices, and Christian counseling methods. She has done significant training and supervision toward the Registered Play Therapist credential, along with numerous trainings in child-parent relationship therapy, nature-based therapy, expressive arts therapy, and animal-assisted therapy.
Grounded in person-centered theory, Lindsay emphasizes authenticity, unconditional positive regard, and deep empathy in her work. She meets clients where they are, collaborates with them to identify meaningful goals, and works together to achieve lasting growth and healing. When it comes to working with children, Lindsay takes a holistic approach by involving and equipping family members as well. Lindsay’s approaches are not only reinforced by counseling theory and Scripture, but by first-hand evidence of change she’s seen in clients (and their families).
Beyond her clinical practice, Lindsay has a ten-year history of mentorship and ministry work. She has served as both an in-person and distance mentor for midshipmen women at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Further, she is a certified yoga teacher and experienced retreat speaker. In her free time, Lindsay likes to be on the go either hiking or spending time with friends. She and her family recently moved to East TN from Annapolis, MD and are embracing this lovely area by starting a small-scale flower farm. She and her husband will be homeschooling their elementary age boys and are very excited to experience life in TN together.
Lindsay holds a graduate license in MD and a temporary license in TN. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, as well as a B.A. and M.A. in English Literature and Composition from Salisbury University.
