Stewart Scott is a licensed professional counselor in Tennessee. While Stewart is originally from Texas, the Army led him and his family to North Carolina in 2012 where he was a member of the 722nd EOD company at Ft. Bragg. Upon his exit from the Army, Stewart joined the staff as the executive pastor at their local church. He and his family eventually moved to Orlando, FL where he attended Reformed Theological Seminary and earned his Master’s in Counseling.

Over the course of his life, Stewart has experienced the beauty of God’s goodness but also the extreme anguish of life’s suffering. He believes that this was not what we were meant for. He believes that we were meant for more than the anger and rage, more than the sleepless nights, more than the constant feeling of being alone. Ultimately, he believes that there is great hope in what seems to be a hopeless world.

All of this led Stewart on a journey with God to figure out how to bring this hope to others in very unique ways. Stewart counsels from a relational approach, believing that healing ultimately happens in the relationship. Jesus set the example of meeting people exactly where they were, and from there, he lovingly and patiently called them to something greater.

Stewart also believes that God created people for a particular purpose. While traumatic life experiences may cloud our eyes and seem to hinder the Lord’s work, these experiences can actually serve to shape our very purpose and further help define what God has created us to do.

Stewart has experience working with clients in couples and relationship issues, men’s issues, trauma, church and spiritual abuse, vocation and career exploration, and veteran’s issues.

His professional approach integrates faith and psychology, and he believes that healing comes from a holistic approach to care. While Stewart draws from several different theories depending upon client goals, his main approach comes from psychodynamic and emotionally focused theories. Stewart has also been trained in and utilizes EMDR.

Some of the things Stewart likes to do are reading, CrossFit, hiking, and simply being with friends. But his absolute favorite thing to do, and where you will find him most often, is spending time with his wonderful wife and their three young sons.
